Working closely with the staff of the National Civil Rights Museum, this 1,600 SF exhibit was developed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination. The exhibit encompassed his last year of life, his continued legacy on the Civil Rights Movement and reflections on the 50 years since Dr. King’s tragic death. Exhibit components include a children’s area in an A-Frame representative of the Poor People’s Campaign; an art installation exploring the difference in perspective between Chaos and Community; and never before seen color photos by Art Shay, a freelance photographer who shadowed the Memphis Police Department as they looked for King’s killer.
